Get ready for Production 5770...
Exciting news about the 2008-09 year! Here's a brief update...
A few new (well, ok, OLD, but functional!) computers for the dorm. These will have some useful software installed on them: Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Publisher, Media Player (audio only, sorry!), Corel Paintshop Pro (photo editing), a Hebrew word processor, a few games, and more!
New STAFF and COURSES:
FIVE new teachers and new courses (not counting electives!!)...1) Chumash (new teacher)

5) Ishei Tanach (personalities from Tanach) (new course and teacher)

Monthly 1/2 day Sunday local school excursion (museums, malls, skating, bowling, etc. - schedule being developed)CHANGE:
Chumash will now be divided into 4 levels rather than 3!
Last year, the Shabbaton mothers, daughters and students agreed to take on a group Hach'lota to bentch licht 5 minutes early every Shabbos and Yom Tov.
This year, the group Hachlota steered by Mrs. Eagle is:
1) to focus/have more kavana in at least one section of davening -- for Toby
2) and to smile (even when the situation is challenging -- still to smile) - for Toby
Production 5768 called "best ever"!

10/25/2006: Bnos Rabbeinu is happy to announce the date for their upcoming production in Chicago to be B'ezras Hashem the weekend of 7-8 Shevat, January 26 & 27. Since a number of airlines are offering cheap flights to Chicago during this time period, we are hoping that many mothers, sisters, alumni and friends will be able to come. Deadline for booking these cheap flights is Friday, October 27th.
NEW! Friday emails will now be delivered if they arrive before noon! Send the girls email for Shabbos!!
10/25/2006: BIG NEWS: Jet Blue has announced that they will be starting service between Chicago and New York JFK and Long Beach California beginning January 4, 2007!! For early bookings, they have flights as low as $36 one way!! Check out their web site at http://jetblue.com/
Update: American Airlines, ATA, and Airtran have matched the $36 deal as well! Now valid to/from Chicago(ORD/MDW) to all 3 NYC airports-LGA, JFK, and EWR!!!! Fare rules are the same as Jetblue's.09/08/2006: OK, they didn't quite get what I wanted... but at least something was contributed to the "This Week" feature page! I'll explain it again and by next week we should see a description of the week's activities and special projects at Bnos Rabbeinu. Also got commitment to assign one of the photography course students to act as official photographer for each special event -- so we should see lots of web album photos this year! Spread the word.
09/01/2006: Coming soon! We are re-implementing something we did years ago, namely publishing a brief summary of each week's activities written by one of the students. The "This Week at Bnos Rabbeinu" link above will pop up a window with each week's student news, published usually by Thursday night or Friday.

School has started! First day photos are already posted!! Pass the word...08/22/2006: First photos of the NEW DORM have been posted! These are in the re-organized photo album, and are from a couple of weeks ago, as furniture was just being moved in.

Update on the Bnos Rabbeinu Production Feb 16/06 in Crown Heights...
Turnout was way better than anticipated, with the 600-seat auditorium filled to capacity. (Extra police had to be summoned due to a requirement for a certain police-to-crowd ratio.) The performance was certainly a success and was greatly enjoyed by all. Mazal tov, Bnos Rabbeinu!
